ResponsibilitiesPeraton is searching for a full time, Field Service Engineer to support our customer site at the Washington Planning Center (WPC) at the Washington Navy Yard, DC. As a Field Service Engineer, you will be supporting the Theater Mission Planning Center (TMPC) products developed by Peraton. You will be working directly with the customer onsite. Candidate must be team oriented and able to work in a DoD environment.This is a broad range Field Service Engineer that will provide expertise with the configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Microsoft/Linux OS: Windows 11, Server 2019/2022, RedHat 7.x/8.x/9.x. Candidate responsibilities include:Provide TMPC system administrator supportTroubleshoot and diagnose system/software issuesMaintain systems with software and security updatesSupport system upgrades/installationsHelp desk support for TMPC productsInvestigate and report software discrepanciesSupport cyber security accreditation of TMPC (to include ACAS/NESSUS scanning)Monitor system performance and product assuranceSupport test events and other related customer requirementsQualificationsWhat you will need:Education: 5 years with BS degree, 3 years with MS, and 0 years with a PhD, or at least 9 years of related work experience in lieu of degreeMust be U.S. Citizen and hold an active/current DoD Top Secret (SCI) clearanceMust have or within 3 months obtain DoD Directive 8570 Information Assurance compliance (Security+ certification) and within 6 months obtain Computing Environment complianceTechnical knowledge and experience with Microsoft products, including: Windows 11, Server 2019/2022, RedHat 7.x/8.x/9.x Operating Systems, SQL; PowerShell, and Office; Microsoft SQL Server or SQL Server Management Studio, Active Directory, RedHat VirtualizationStrong Windows background – Windows/RedHatGeneral knowledge of networkingPossess good oral and written skillsDESIRED SKILLSPossess software and/or systems engineering skillsOperational knowledge of TMPCPrior U.S. Navy experience with Tomahawk backgroundPeraton OverviewPeraton is a next-generation national security company that drives missions of consequence spanning the globe and extending to the farthest reaches of the galaxy. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations.
